Charter Manufacturing Announces Retirement of CHRO Sam Inks, Names Erin Van Rooy as Successor

MEQUON, WIS., May 6, 2025 – Charter Manufacturing today announced that Sam Inks, Chief Human Resources Officer, will retire on May 30, 2025, after 19 years of distinguished service. Erin Van Rooy, currently Assistant Chief Human Resources Officer, has been named as her successor.

Sam joined Charter in 2005, leading Human Resources and Environmental Health & Safety for Charter Steel before transitioning to the corporate office in 2014 to lead the HR function across the organization. For nearly two decades, she has been a vital force in shaping Charter’s people practices, championing initiatives that fostered employee engagement, talent development, and a strong, values-driven culture. Her leadership has played an integral role in Charter’s growth and success.

Erin Van Rooy will assume the Chief Human Resources Officer role following a successful seven-year tenure with Charter, most recently serving as Assistant Chief Human Resources Officer. She brings a diverse range of HR leadership experiences across global, domestic, public, and private manufacturing businesses. Erin holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
