Human Resources Intern

Charter Steel (Fostoria, OH)

Charter Steel has an excellent opportunity for a Human Resources Intern.  The Human Resources Intern will be responsible for a wide range of projects, supporting various facets of human resources such as compliance, recruiting, onboarding/orientation, and employee benefits. Projects may be team-oriented or individually driven to give the intern an opportunity to develop a finished product.  The internship is designed to be both educational and practical; and, in this position, the intern will learn how to take skills acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting.  The HR intern is truly a part of the team with meaningful assignments and responsibilities throughout the experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrolled in a four-year degree program in Human Resources, Business, or related field with current status of at least a sophomore level with a minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Administrative and data entry skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Customer service skills
  • Familiarity and/or experience with HR practices and HR law
