Control Systems Engineering Intern

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Control Systems Engineer Intern will provide project assistance to the Maintenance Project Engineer and Controls Engineer.  This internship is a great opportunity to gain experience in factory automation.  The intern will benefit from hands on exposure to PLC and HMI (Human Machine Interface) programming.  The Control Systems Engineer Intern will be exposed to a variety of instrumentation such as temperature sensors, flow meters, and level indicators.  They will also work with a variety of process equipment including motors, drives, and burner, temperature, position, and speed controls.  They will have the opportunity to be involved in the steel making process, as well as testing and research and development for new technology.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Enrollment in a 4 year degree program in Electrical/Control Engineering with a minimum of sophomore standing
  • Minimum of a 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Experience with drafting software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Training with PLC languages (preferably Siemens brand)
  • Training in Microsoft SQL
  • Experience in AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Wonderware InTouch
  • Knowledge of the German language
