Position Summary
The Server Administrator supports all the divisions of Charter Manufacturing by ensuring the availability of client server applications, developing process and procedures for the ongoing management of the server environment. The Server Administrator's role is to design, install, administer, and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by IT. The successful candidate will have a strong background in LINUX environment along with VMWare. The Server Administrator will work closely with the System Architect to develop solutions with all of the IT operations to develop alignment between Manufacturing systems, the data center and the network to support all of Charter Manufacturing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in computer science and 5 years IT operations experience
- Experience with Red Hat Linux and Windows O/S
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
- Experience managing mid to large scale datacenters
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to build relationships across both technical and functional areas of the business
- Self motivated and ability to work independently
- Strong customer service orientation
- Demonstrated communication skills in working with both functional and technical teams at varies levels in the business
