Position Summary
The Oracle Database Administrator will work closely within the IT group and outside contractors along with the end user environment to design, install, maintain and performance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. They will be responsible for overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases. They will provide support to developers with troubleshooting. They will develop and maintain the backup and recovery process for Oracle e-Business Suite R12 installations.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or related field, with 4 years of IT operations experience
- 4 years of DBA experience
- Good understanding of the 11i architecture and the various Application tier and Database tier components: underlying objects, schemas/products, database objects, file system structure, tables, views, packages, procedures, sequences, indexes and constraints
- In-depth working knowledge of Linux or Unix environments
- Practical knowledge of parallel concurrent processing, tracing and debugging, defining concurrent managers and concurrent programs, managing database and applications security
- Languages: PL/SQL, SQL, Unix shell scripting
- Databases: Oracle 10g
- Experience with tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Applications Manager, Custom-scripting, Toad
- Exposure to tools/utilities such as Oracle Discoverer, Oracle BPEL, Workflow Builder
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
