Career Opportunity: Operations Project Engineer

Position Summary

The Operations Project Engineer will be Charter Steel's primary resource responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data related to developing and implementing specific projects. This position will work closely with Charter Steel plant and operational managers to support operational goals and provide optimum engineering solutions. The operations project engineer will act as a liaison between vendors, operations and the engineering departments. This individual will need to listen and understand key stakeholder needs within the operations and be available to coach lead teams to achieve results. The project engineer will be able to balance the role of leader and support member effectively based on individual plant needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical discipline; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education
• 5 years of experience in operational management, with direct project management responsibility
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven project management skills in leading multiple projects at caries levels
• Excellent analytical skills in providing optimum engineering solutions
• Experience in coaching and influencing others to achieve results
• Leadership experience in working with and leading cross functional teams
• Ability to travel up to 40%
• Proficient in auto cad and Microsoft project
• Critical thinking skills to understand the strategic direction of the business sand weigh the economic cost befit of projects
