Career Opportunity: Process Metallurgist

Position Summary

The Process Metallurgist provides support for the Quality Technical Manager and assists the Rolling Division in continually improving customer service and problem resolution. This position is responsible for improving and developing existing systems for reporting and analyzing data. The Process Metallurgist will collect and communicate product quality data and recommend and implement process improvements, in regards to the quality and efficiency of processed product based on detailed analysis.  This position must ensure all quality procedures are carried out and effectively work with production to meet customers' expectations while meeting production demands.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering or equivalent (such as Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)
• Two to three years experience of working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment (or equivalent school and work experience)
• Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues as they relate to production and product quality
• Strong communication and presentation skills with various levels of the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with experience in programming and performing queries in various computer applications
• Demonstrated ability to foster and promote positive employee relations
• Knowledge in statistical process control and data analysis
• Proven leadership skills in leading cross functional teams and resources without direct authority; including the ability to collaborate and influence others to find the optimal solution
• Experience in continuous improvement of operations through equipment design and modification
