Career Opportunity: Operations Accountant / Financial Analyst

Position Summary

The Operations Accountant/ Financial Analyst is a key role in supporting Charter Steel'ss Manufacturing Plants. The position will provide financial reporting and analysis for the production plants to provide insight in achieving performance goals and will become part of the operations management team, working closely to problem solve operational financial issues. He/she will understand and can recommend solutions for key operational initiatives as it relates to costing. The ideal candidate will be able to work with departments to create and implement tools, so they can plan and track how they are doing against budget. The successful analyst will want to take initiative, go out on the manufacturing floor to identify potential issues or to research and solve existing problems. The Operations Accountant / Financial Analyst will take a leadership role in making recommendations on key improvement initiatives and cost savings to varying levels of management without having direct authority.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years accounting experience
• Knowledge, understanding and proven experience in cost accounting and cost drivers in a manufacturing environment
• Strong interpersonal skills in engaging with others and learning their area of the business
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal in working with and explaining financial data to employees at a variety of levels in the organization
• Ability to work in teams as a leader and as a member
• Experience in working with ERP packages
• Strong analytical skills to gather data from multiple sources and report findings
• Proficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Products; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
