Position Summary
This Production Set-Up will support our manufacturing operations. We are ideally looking for someone with 5 to 7 years of manufacturing machine set-up experience. We have a 2nd and 3rd shift openings.
- Set up, adjust and operate a variety of machines such as four slides, presses, or multiple and auxiliary equipment to perform operations on a diversified product line having close dimension, shape and contour. May specialize in a particular type of equipment.
- Align and secure dies, locate stops, adjust chute feeds, part conveyance systems, vacuum pick-up, ram stroke, safety
devices, etc.
- Install tools and auxiliary equipment and adjust to meet required quality and quantity standards
- Inspect first run parts and check dimensions, shape and contour with necessary precision instruments; periodically check parts during process run as specified in control plan or other documentation and make required machine adjustments
- Perform capability studies and part layouts
- Instruct and guide operating personnel on operating procedures, job hazards, new work, operational difficulties, etc.
- Diagnose machine or die malfunctions and remedy same
- Read and interpret part drawings, manufacturing instructions, and control plans
- Perform required inspection procedures on parts or tools using standard or special inspection or test equipment
- Inspect and use safety devices on all machines and equipment as required
- Communicate to others on the next scheduled work shift, regarding equipment adjustments and special precautions to be observed
- Operate lift truck to move and position materials
