Charter Manufacturing Purchases Emerald Steel's Centerline, Michigan Coil Processing Plant

Officials from the Charter Manufacturing Company today announced that the company has purchased the assets of the Emerald Steel coil processing plant located in Centerline, Michigan, from Emerald Steel Processing, LLC. The assets will be combined with the company's Charter Steel Division, which has steel-making and coil processing facilities in Saukville, Wisconsin, Cuyahoga Heights, Ohio and Rising Sun, Ohio.

The new coil processing assets raise Charter Steel's annual coil processing capacity to more than 400,000 tons. The company intends to anneal, clean, coat and draw hot rolled steel coils produced at its steelmaking facilities in Wisconsin and Ohio in the Centerline facility.
